Our Daily Textile
The exhibition Textil náš každodenný presents slovak textile designers of different generations. Viera Líčeníková-Škrabalová worked in the years 1925-2007. Michaela Bednárová works in the present. Both artists are influenced by folk tradition. The exhibition draws attention to various parallels, timelessness, but also to the dynamics of changing fashion trends.
The poster as the main visual of the exhibition works with significant patterns of both artists, which it combines into a single whole. The simple sans serif font connects the different time periods in which the artists work, it also corresponds with the concept of the dailyness. In the windows of the exhibition I have placed a dialogue of "mirror" photographs of fashion models by both authors. The texts in the exhibition, printed on rolls of paper, quote fabric. The installation of the exhibition recycles the paper tubes from the fabrics as much as possible.
