Rudo Moric City Library

Municipal library in Stupava is a place that hasn't changed a bit since my first visit (around 1995). This institution hasn't been redecorated for many years due to the lack of financial resources. Underfunded library has slowly turned into some kind of museum. When I returned after some time, I was impressed by all kinds signs of passing time, both visual and written. It felt like the past was almost everywhere I looked - from furniture design (coming from the 70's) to piles of older or newer books. Gradually, I was finding the best way of capturing this special place, this unusal museum. Finally, I've chosen a photography. Photos are usually formed into a sheaf of publications and postcards. I've tried to  look at this institution in different ways. As a tool I used several cameras. Objective point of view represents a book „Annual report 2013“, that contains statistical data and black and white photos. Romantic or ideal point of view of the library is represented by postcards – overdue notice letters for readers. Subjective point of view brings author book of photography „Reader's diary“. This project is completed with a „pattern book“ of protective shoe coats, so typical for this institution. All of the objects used in the project come only from the library building. The library was refurnished in 2016, moved to a new place with a new equipment, which makes this project a record of a nonexistent place.
